Question Meal Tracking and Planning Project

    Hey all, first post here.

I am undertaking a challenge to eat on $4 a day for a month (while still getting 2,000 calories a day and eating relatively healthy). I want to pull together an excel sheet to help me plan and track these meals. I have used excel for a while to track various aspects of my life but I never got too deep into it.

So I went shopping and bought about twenty items for which I recorded name, price, price per serving, and calories per serving.

I am imagining a box for each day split into 3 meals. Under each meal would be an entry for number of servings and a drop down menu for food items, which would autofill calorie and cost information based on the food item you chose and number of servings you input. Also I would like to display totals for calories and costs.
Something like this except I did this all by hand and I would like it to be more autonomous.

I know I eat random stuff, but.... I'm in college...
This is what my reference list looks like:

Any and all criticism welcome. Thanks!

    Hey,

Here is an example of an autonomous way to do this. You could format it nicer to set it up for multiple days instead needing a new sheet for each day. If you have any questions about how I did it feel free to ask.
