Hi,
I run a small blog elsewhere, but I'm not here to gather readers. I've been away from the programming community for some time, due to many personal commitments in life ... such as earning my MCITP and completing my MBA. While I don't regret the experience, many of the programming communities I once belonged to have folded up shop, so I am trying to see where the community has went. Some of you might have seen me on other forums as Yoshi97 about five years back, though if no one were to remember me that would be understandable, given the amount of time that has passed.
My favorite programming language is VBA, and I enjoy trying to build things in it that (perhaps) it was never meant for. For example, I recently built a fully functional Tic-Tac-Toe program in Excel, with an adjustable level of AI to make things interesting. I would be interested in hearing what oddities others have created in Excel, as I think it's the perfect sandbox for play.
That about covers past and present ... now for the future.
I'm currently working on a Health Informatics degree, which should set me in a good place to eventually enter the management world of the healthcare industry. Other than that, I'd like to someday host programmer challenges, where everyone just gets together and solves some off-the-wall problems for the prestige. To be honest, I think my management aspirations are a bit more realistic, but a dream is a dream, right?
My hope is that I can offer up some knowledge that might help others here, and that I can enjoy being a part of the programmer's community again. It should be interesting to see how much has changed with Excel. When I last dove in deep, the version was 2007. Never fear ... as I am making up for lost time!
So, that's a little about me, and I do hope I will have more of worth to offer everyone in the future, other than just this self-introduction.
Do we share horror (laughable) stories here? I worked in a computer store for 20+ years, and I have a TON of them.
