    Hello,
    When you have the time can you take a look at the workbook I uploaded (http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...selection.html) and see if what I want to do is possible.
    Thanks,
    elefante
  5. Yes indeed... lasw10 didn't really have the same ring to it...
    And of course I need more problems to solve!!!
  6. Hi

    If you want to do this in just this one file then you can use the FileDailog:

    With Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogSaveAs)
    .InitialFileName = ActiveSheet.Range("A1").Value
    If .Show=-1 Then ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs .SelectedItems(1)
    End WIth

    which will show whatever value is in A1 as the initial filename. You need to include the Path in the value in A1 or you could set it as the Path of the Activeworkbook or some other specified path if you wish.

    Hi Richard,
    You had replied to a post I placed regarding The SaveAs Dialogue. At the time I was focused on "Opening" files, now I want to save them. I had searched for sometime and have had no clear answer. Want I want is to go to the menu bar, hit file, then "Save As" and a cell value of the activesheet will be in the file name field. This would allow for editing of the name. I don't want a seperate dialogue box. Is this something you were willing to help with at the time?

    Thanks,
    Dsexpress
