Sorry to burst you bubble, Martin, but your solution will not do the personalised greeting (Dear XXX).
Terry, you need to use Word as your Email editor and then create an email, go Tools - Letter and Mailings - Mail merge. The wizard leads you through it. Make sure that you select to create an email. You can have your email addresses in an Excel spreadsheet and link to that. In the same Excel spreadsheet you should have the first name of the addressee in another column and you can then use that column for the Dear XXX variable.
Read up on mail merge in the Word help. It's really not all that complicated.
