Mail from Outlook, Set to not receive mail

I use Gmail as my email client. I wish to use on occasion Outlook as a means to send emails through my Gmail account. I do not wish to ever receive emails into the Outlook client. What settings do I need to establish to allow this to happen.

If you wonder why? On occasion I run into a situation that when I click on a link to email while on a web site, it opens automatically to outlook and will not give me any other option. I then have to cut and paste the address from the outlook form to gmail. I would just prefer to just send the email.

While I realize that crossposting is not a good thing to do, I have listed this at the following forum with out any responses.
