Thread: How to search inside attachments of outlook

Hi Dear all,

I want VBA to make search inside the attachments of outlook.

In outlook there is one option of "Advance Find" which could search by "specific folder", by "subject" , by "body text" and by "attachment name" also, but I want to search inside the attachment as well.

Iam sure there would be any genius in this forum who could solve this problem.

*All attachments are of excel sheet.

I find it a little annoying when nobody answers my questions. So I will give you some tips. If I am wrong maybe people will correct me and you will then have an answer :-)

I do not know of any VBA code from the Outlook object model that can search within a document or in this case attachment.

I also have not come accross any native VBA code outside of outlook that would do this.

I think what you are looking for is something like Windows Desktop Search or (I think) Google Desktop Search which indexes the contents of documents so that when you search you get results from within documents.
