How to Merge Selection of Cells "Individually"?

I have created a macro (VBA) to merge and unmerge selected cells, this works great when Unmerging as I can select many cells to unmerge at one time.

If I use a selection of cells can I merge each cell indivdually (from the selection)?
I have gone into brain lock trying to figure this one out.

Never use Merged Cells, they are going to cause problems eventually. Use Centre across selection from the Format menu
    Hope that helps.

I have not heard of this option nor can I find it in my Format menu? (curious)

I use merged cells for entering a single piece of data, like, "1.0230" and I use unmerged cells to enter multi piece data such as a range "1.0210-1.0250", less the "-" (dash or minus symbol). As an example; the left cell would represent the low value of a range and the right cell would represent the high value of a range.
This is auto-populated from CMM data (Coordinate Measuring Machine).

First select your cells, from the Format menu, select Cells. In the dialog there are two drop downs. The top one contains centre across selection.
