So I have a shared workbook, where the sharing feature is password protected to prevent accidental unsharing. I now have to archive this workbook and password protect it from modification without unsharing it (unsharing will erase all change history). When I try to do this, I get a "Passwords cannot be changed in shared books" error. I need a way around this to prevent modification to old workbooks. Ideas?
I don't believe there is a way around that. You could view the changes on a new sheet, then copy and paste the content of that "History" sheet to a new one, thus preserving the history. That's a workaround.

I guess that will have to do. Too bad I forgot to paste the history sheet info to a real sheet so the history was deleted anyway hehe. Thank you for the suggestion.
