Shortcut for Merge cells

Hi all,

I have done googling but could not able to find shortcut key for merging cells.

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Vikas,

Select the cells you wants to merge, now perform any of the below given steps.

ALT+H+M+Enter

OR try

Ctrl+1 A Alt+M Enter

OR

ALT + Enter

Yeah, I notices just now, ALT + Enter does not work if you did not perform Merging cell previously. It's nothing to do with CTRL + 1. Even If you press CTRL+1 nothing will happen. AS "ALT + ENTER" works similarly as F4 (to Repeat action)

@Ashish - You may refer to other shortcuts given to you and leave ALT + ENTER.

Ah! I got it.

I did not use Merge cells at all; however to make similar view I use Indentation.

That works but not everywhere because it may confuse user as which cell is containing the value / text. So merging cell will give the clear idea but both works fine and depend on the requirement.

Not merging confuses and merging give clear idea? I never heard of it before.
Maybe I could try merge cell once to see is this true.

If you try to indent any cell they may be you can feel something. M I missing something

@anil: I find it difficult to work with Merged cells due to the referencing problem.

Really???

Don't know but I never found any difficulties with merge cells. But it all depend and vary person to parson and the uses as per the requirement. Anyway, let's not discuss it here and wait for OP to confirm if it solve his/her purpose.

The following short cut will work for cells merge:

Highlight the cells to merge and take
ALT,H,M,C

for wrap text, use : ALT,H,C

rgds.
