    Converting Daily Data to Monthly?

    Hello,

I have 9 years of daily stock data (January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2014) in columns from B2 to B2266 (daily dates are in A column). I would like to find and list the average of each months daily data in columns D2 to D108 (monthly dates are in columns C 2 to C108). Is there an easier way to do this?

note: stock data is based on business days and doesn't include market holidays.

    Thanks for you help

Post a sample (several days for each of 3 - 4 months)
    To attach a Workbook
(please do not post pictures or links to worksheets)
    • Click Advanced (next to quick post),
    • Scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments",
    • Click that then select "add files" (top right corner).
    • Click "Select Files" find your file, click "open" click "upload"
    • Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
    • Click "Done" at bottom right to close the Attachment Manager.
    • Click "Submit Reply"

    1. Named the date column as DATERANGE
    2. Named the Close column as CLOSEVALUES

    3. Used:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
sum of CLOSE values where the month and year = MON & YR. in column D and divide by a count of dates matching column D mon. & yr.
