Line that goes through lowest points in scatterplot

    Hello,

For a schoolwork I need to make a graph that is able to represent about 15000 rows and 2 kolomns.
I need to plot the 2 kolomns so I'am able to analyse the relation between these 2 variables.
I made a scatterplot, but it is more like a figure now due to the high amount of data.
Now I need to have another graph running through the lowest points in the scatterplot.
Can anybody help me ? I tried with trendlines but due to the large amount of data it is not possible.

    Kind regards

It is not clear to me exactly what you need.

One thing I have observed. Charts are not very good at "analyzing" or "processing" data. I expect that most of this question will be about how to process the large data set to extract the data that you really need. Once the data are processed in the spreadsheet, I expect that it will be easy to create the chart.

When I want a scatter plot that will highlight or separate out the "lowest" points of a larger data set, then the first step is to
    1) figure out what I mean by "lowest" points. Once I have that understood, then I figure out
    2) what combination of spreadsheet formulas or features that will allow me to "extract" those points from the larger data set. Sometimes I use filters for this, other times I will use lookup functions. Once the desired data are extracted from the larger data set, then I
    3) create the scatter plot based on that data.

In this "divide and conquer" sense, what part do you need help with? Can you provide a sample spreadsheet (with dummy data if needed) that will illustrate the task?

    Thank you for your reply.
It is indeed a bit abstract without an example. I have some trouble however to upload my graph on this site.
I have all the data in pivot tables. Every x has multiple corresponding values for y.
If you put this in a graph you have a vertical bar. So I need to have the lowest y values for every x.
So i was doing it with conditional formatting, I looked down and for every x value I did a conditional formatting for the lowest corresponding value.
But it takes a lot of work since there are like 15000 rows. And I have some trouble to put this new data in the scatterplot.
I hope I explained it a bit better.
    Kind regards,

I do not work with pivot tables, but I do know that trying to chart data from pivot tables can be challenging -- especially when you want an XY scatter chart. http://peltiertech.com/regular-chart...-pivot-tables/

As I indicated, charts are not very good at "analyzing" data. I expect that the real challenge here is how to get your pivot table to extract those "lowest" points into another column (which can be added to the scatter chart as an additional data series). As I have very limited experience with pivot tables, I am likely not going to be much help with this.

Ok, no worries, thanks for the reply anyways.
I just filtered it on every X value and then sorted it from low to highest value.
