    Email Data to Excel

    Good morning,

We receive notifications for Traffic Fines incurred by clients by email. Is there a way this can be exported / extracted to excel in tabular form via the use of a macro? Email format attached.

Traffic fine number, Date and time, Car Number etc.

    Sam

Extracting the data is simple enough... see attached. The problem that you haven't addressed is what do you want to happen when the next one comes in?

Ahh ok, no not like this...
I wanted the data to be extracted from Outlook, ie, as soon as this email comes in from this recipient, (assuming the format is always the same), it can be downloaded/extracted to excel.

Or else, the email messages are saved in a folder, and the excel links to this folder somehow..

    Re: Email Data to Excel

Step 1 : Click "File" in the Outlook ribbon.
Step 2 : Click "Open" in the left pane.
Step 3 : Click "Import" to open the Import and Export wizard.
Step 4 : Select "Export to a file." Click "Next."
Step 5 : Select "Microsoft Excel 97-2003." Click "Next."
Step 6 : Select "Inbox." Click "Next."
Step 7 : Click "Browse." Navigate to the folder where you want to save the Excel file. Type a name for the file. Click "Next."
Step 8 : Click "Finish" to export your emails as an Excel spreadsheet.

Try this way. This will get your current emails in the excel format but the new ones will not be automatically converted to Excel. If the above one works then i would suggest you to move the emails to another folder after you have converted it and then you can do the above process again for the new emails.

    Re: Email Data to Excel

    Hi Abdjulji,

Thanks for this. It worked and the data was extracted. (both CSV and Excel 97-2003)
My only remaining problem is that the data in the Body of the email is in one cell. When i try to do text to columns, the data is messed up due to line spacing.

Is there a way around this?

    Regardsa
    Sam
