Compiling a list of data cells that are being referenced by VLOOKUP

Hello,
I am creating a workbook to calculate the food cost of recipes for a restaurant. my current system is to have a list of ingredients that use VLOOKUP to pull prices from a data table.

the problem is that the data table includes bakery and cleaning items and I need a list that only includes items used in the recipes.
is there a way to essentially reverse engineer the VLOOKUP and isolate the cells that the recipes are specifically referencing that I can then compile and print as a list?

Ps. this is my first post here so if I have been unclear or confusing please let me know,

Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the forum

So, you have all items in the same list - 1 long list for everything?

If so, then perhaps use a 2nd column and give all items a code to indicate what they get used in/for. You could then apply filters based on that code, and then just print what shows.

It would probably helo if you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

@Fdibbins,
thank you for the feed back. I had thought about identifying them manually, however I have close to 450 items in inventory and over 100 recipes that pull from that list. that's why I was hoping to find a way to just identify the ones being referenced.

I have also attached a sample to this post. I hope this is what you meant by clean. if not please let me know and I will correct it.
recipe costing sample.xlsx

my desired out come is just a list of referenced items that can be printed out.

It looks like you have that list broken down already. From what I can make out, you need to "exclude" equip...

bakery
bread
chem
dairy
dry
equip
fish
fountain
fruit
meat
misc
pasta
produce
seasons

You already have your table set up so that you can UNcheck that item (and/or any others you dont want)
