edit/save file thru Network

hi,

my problem is to edit an excel file thru our network i have access to the file but when i open it says "read only" next to the file name on the title bar
so i cant edit and save the file from my pc
i dont want to copy the file on my pc i just need to edit/save the file from my pc but the file is still located on the other pc

the pc which the file is located is running windows 8.1 and office 2016 and my pc is windows 10 and office 2013

i have shared the file (thru excel and thru network) and applied full control permission on the folder but cant make it to work

Isn't this a security issue, where you are opening the file and it is trying to keep you secure by opening the file as read only?

I would try making the network a trusted location.

tried the adding trusted location it still says read only
