Hi,
I am trying to produce a save as copy of a read only protected workbook. I have written a macro that prompts the user to save as. The save as dialogue box opens, allows you to select the drive and folder but when save is clicked the file is not saved anywhere. I have tried multiple folders/naming conventions and I have tried changing the file extensions in the VBA. I even opened the destination folder and watched the saved file appear and then disappear in front of my eyes!
I guess the question is, can I save as via a macro on a protected sheet without unprotecting it? I am very reluctant to unprotect the sheet at any point as the spreadsheet will be available on a website for customers to use and I really don't want to risk them playing with formulas/changing figures.
Any advice is gratefully received.
TIA
