Question Trying to apply a formula to an entire column

    Good Morning!

I'm running into problems trying to get this to work. the code works when inserted into a single cell, however I want to apply it a whole column. I want Column F to autofill with the date when Column E is filled with Yes , any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So at present, your formula just looks at a single cell to see if it says Yes. You want the formula to look at the whole column all at once and if all values are "yes" then show today's date?
IF("helping me", "thanks", "need more detail?")

You would have to copy the formula down the column as needed.

With your mouse "grab" that little square on the bottom right hand side of the formula cell (it's called the fill handle) then drag down the column as needed.

Also, I'm guessing that what you really want is a date stamp.

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Of course, my test case had only rows 2 to 4 but you would need to expand it to contain all rows you are looking at. Also, using today() will mean that if i look at the sheet tomorrow, it will show the date for tomorrow instead - it isn't a fixed point in time.
