Custom cell formatting

I would like to add a sybol or a suffix to a cell formating such as " ±.015" and "°" (The degree symbol). I can not find a way to do this on Excel For Mac 2011. I'm sure there is some way to do it but everything I have tried does not work. I have tried using ALT to no avail. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I have tried many different ways that I found using Google.

That's not quite what I am looking for. I want to make a custom format that I can place in any cell needed that will give me the results I need. This would be placed in the number formatting place. It would become a custom format.

You can also place it in Custom format.

Right click -> Format cell -> Custom -> "±"#.##0"°"

I wish it was that simple. Unfortunately, the Mac will not let me just insert a symbol from the symbol browser. There must be some way to insert symbols usin "Char" or ????. Thanks again for your help.
