    New Old Guy

    Hi:

Been programming in MS Access since 2.0. Still continue by supporting the family business for which I have developed the operations s/w in access. It is a business with a field service component so I have been compelled to provide a field service dispatch app and feel that excel is the right tool for that.

I have only done some minor work in excel over the years and have never gotten serious about developing a professional application there. Big mistake. There is so much that I don't even know I don't know about programming in excel. However, I did get "Professional Excel Development", Second Ed. - Bovey, Wallentin, etc. What a great book. I've run across so many best practices that, if I were not so lazy, I should have included in all my Access app development.

Anyway, just getting started and may need some assistance along the way. I want wanted to say, much respect to all you excel experts out there. I'm afraid I've been guilty of having a database programming superiority bias all these years. Please forgive me. I am in therapy and working hard on it.

Thanks for being there. These forums are the best.
