Moved Worksheet Not Recognizing Cell Names

I have a workbook with a number of worksheets for budgeting. I have one worksheet that has rates on it. Each rate I labeled "Electrician_Rate" or similar for what the appropriate name should be. I have another worksheet that is a schedule of when I want these rates to be applied to number of hours worked, this is a scheduling workbook. I had to make a new workbook and pulled two worksheets from the original workbook to the new workbook. I have lets say one cell at "$50" labeled "Electrician_Rate". I change the value from $50 to $100 to see if it would update correctly and it is not updating on the sheet where it should update the rate with the schedule. When I look at the formula it still says it is referencing the "Electrician_Rate" but it is not taking.

Can anyone think of any reason this is not working as it should? The obvious thing that probably caused it is moving the sheets from one workbook to another, but I really cannot figure out what the deal is and there are a lot of formulas referenced and I hate to rewrite them all.

Any help is appreciated. Sorry I cannot post the book because it has info that I cannot put on a open forum.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Is it referencing the original workbook also?

Re: Moved Worksheet Not Recognizing Cell Names

Actually now that you say that I opened up both workbooks and put the side by side. I change the rate in the original one I pulled it from and the rate in the new destination one takes that rate for the cell. I wouldn't have thought it would look for a cell name reference outside of the workbook in a different workbook. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to rewrite all the formulas?

Without seeing the actual formula, it is difficult to say. You may have to relink the formulas.

When you open the workbook, does it ask if you want to update links? If it does, you can try editing the links and change the source. Navigate to the current workbook and Ok out.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for the delay had some other personal things to attend to.

    I do get the prompt

"This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe.

If you trust the links, update them to get the latest data. Otherwise, you can keep working with the data you have."

There are three options. Update, Don't Update, and Help

Update and Don't update produce the same result. That I guess I need to figure out is how to remove the external source?
