    EXCEL vs ACCESS

I have been trying to create a model for predicting football outcomes for several footballs league in excel. However, I realized that as more data is added, more formulas, columns, rows etc, it becomes hard to manage the spreadsheets. I need to know if it is possible to implement excel formulas in access because I am seriously considering switching to access for management of my football statistics.

    Re: EXCEL vs ACCESS

Excel is made to deal with complex formulas, Access is made to deal with data and relationships. Using complex formulas in access will more than likely be even more cumbersome/slower.

    Two alternatives:
Upload an example workbook and let us have a look at how your data is organised and offer improvements.

Keep the data in Access and use Excel to simply display and calculate the data when required. Again, this would need an example workbook at the very least

    Re: EXCEL vs ACCESS

Microsoft Access is entirely different from Microsoft Excel, one is a Database Programming tool and the other is a spreadsheet application.

Unlike Excel Microsoft Access need some previous programming to make a database that can store data create queries and output the data as required in the form of forms and reports... Microsoft Excel does not need any of these just open the spreadsheet and have your go with the data.
