Names for 5000 image files

Hello, I am working with an excel file that uses about 5000 images that change based on cell values. I have been using the INDIRECT function linking the images to specific cells. Changing the cell value changes the assigned names of the image and that changes accordingly. Unfortunately I have to name 5000 images and have them be linked to the 5000 cells. Any help on how to automate/make it easier is much appreciated. Thanks.

where are these images?
What names do they have/are you using?
How are you changing the names?

The images are on a worksheet (tiny flag images). The names reference the different categories they fall under, cat1fn1f1 (Category 1 function 1 flag 1). I have 20 categories with 25 functions for each. The sheet titled country select has code for each function, and when the input is changed on sheet 2 (R or NR) the flag image goes from blank (white flag titled none) to the corresponding flag. The name manager has the names I have been putting in manually. Thanks for your help.

Which cells are we talking about here?
Also, reference the sheet names as you have them in the file (there is no "sheet 2" - unless feuil means sheet?)

Oh sorry, working with French excel, feuil does mean sheet. each function has a drop down with NR or R which triggers an image change on Feuil 3. So far function 1 in category 1 is working properly, so changing that should give you and idea of the end game here.
