    Formula to flag increase or decrease in entries

    I am using ODBC reporting to query a large databse of a medical imaging facility. Ihave used a pivot table to display the number of orders per physician per month. Is there any way to flag a physician whose referrals have increased or decreased over time?

    you could try SLOPE()
    if positive trend is increasing , if negative decreasing
    =SLOPE(B5:L5,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11})
    or
    if(SLOPE(B5:L5,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11})>0, "increasing", "decreasing")

    P.S.

    To verify the results of the SLOPE function you can create a simple XYscatter chart and include a linear trendline.
