    field date not a date

    Hey guys
This weird and never happend to me, in power pivot/query. I' "cleaning" and preparing a file so i can do a pivot table.
One of the fields of my file is a date field, or it is supposed to be. Formating as a number it shows me the right number for that day. I even made another column adding 1 and subtracting one. It really shows me the date.
When i'm doing a pivot table, on that field, it shows me the month name and i can't do nothing about any format...
Did it happen to anyone of you or is not that weird for you guys?
    Can you help me please?
    Best regards
    Pedro

How is data loaded to PivotTable? Is it from PowerQuery/Data Model or is it straight from table?

Don't understand very well your question, but let me tell you what i do:

After i clean the data i do close and load (only connection, no data model active)
And the i do a pivot table and choose the connection and don't add to any data model since my file is not very long...
    Hope i was clear enough.
    Tks again

Ok, so I'm assuming you are bringing it in via PowerQuery.

What is that data type listed for date column? Is it DateTime or Date?

If possible take a screen shot of the pivottable fields pane and upload (it will help narrow down your issue).

Re: field date not a date

The time is date formated. Like i said above, i formated, just to be sure in number, and it gives me the number of the date. Also, made a column, adding and subrating 1, same value, and formated as date. The result is the same as attached, just month name.
    Tks for your pacience CK

Try right clicking on one of the "Month" that appear on your pivot table and ungroup.

I'm guessing PivotTable is auto grouping dates into months.
