how do you make a header repeat when you add a page in word

but cant get it to work

It works, but only if the data is organised in a table (Insert Tab).

If you have normal text then you will have to add a Section Break and define the page heading just for that section.

What are you trying to repeat - a page header or a table header? The link you posted is for tables only. You do not need to add a Section break - even for normal text. Indeed, adding one to a table will break the table in two a prevent the table's header row(s) from repeating.
