    Alt-Tab Doesn't work within Excel

I can alt-tab between different programs, but my ability to alt-tab between
open workbooks in Excel has stopped working. I'm using Windows XP and Excel
    2003. Did I goof a setting?

I did ... nothing happened for me!

    Are <Alt> <Tab>
    And
    <Ctrl> <F6>
Supposed to perform the same action (change Apps)?

    That's the same as *<Ctrl>* <Tab> Peo!

*<Alt>* <Tab> switches between applications (Word, XL, Access), *besides*
    switching WBs.

I know it does. But if he just wanted to switch between WBs he could use
    that,
I did not mean it could be used to switch between applications

Re: Alt-Tab Doesn't work within Excel

Thank you for the work around - however alt-tab does work between different
open documents in Word, but still not Excel. Do you have any other thoughts
as to what could be causing this behavior? I know it's being picky - but I
like the consistency of alt-tab with whatever I'm working on.

    Thanks

Re: Alt-Tab Doesn't work within Excel

This is what I've always found:

If Windows in Taskbar isn't checked, Alt-Tab should switch apps, and only
one Excel should appear in the Alt-Tab box (only one Excel icon on Taskbar
too). Once in Excel, Ctrl-F6 should switch document windows. So also does
    Ctrl-Tab, which is easier.

If Windows in Taskbar is checked, Alt-Tab should switch between all running
apps, and also each open workbook. Each workbook appears as an app.
Ctrl-F6 or Ctrl-Tab still works to switch between workbooks, if you're in
any of the Excel windows. Also, an extra Excel icon appears in the Alt-Tab
box. There's one with a big X, then one with a small x for each workbook.
I have no idea why the extra one is there.

    Earl, YOU ARE MY HERO!
I loved when Alt+Tab switched between applications only; XP is slowing me
WAY down to have it switching between files within applications as well.

Please tell me where to check/uncheck Windows in Taskbar!

    MANY THANKS

I'm not Earl, but look under:

    Tools|Options|View tab

(It was added in xl2k, though.)
