    Dropdown menus with filtering?

    Hi

Please help me on this puzzle!
I work in a venue and currently arranging a spreadsheet to help maintanance. We have two columns (A & B). We are after both columns to have dropdown menus for users to select from.

I am currently using data validation in column A (a dropdown menu). Once the user makes their selection in column A, they will then move onto column B to select the location. It is in column B I need to have only those locations available to choose from. Hope this makes sense.

I have added an example of what I'm after. Please help me if you can

    Thank you! YohYas

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You need Named Lists and INDIRECT function for this.

Take a look to the example.

    Hope to helps you.

    Good job!
I could not find name List in Defined name! And data validation points to INDIRECT(An). How does it work?

    @bebo

Thank you for your good words. I'll try with my poor English(as you know),to explain what i did....

I have 4 names, that regards eatch one of these to a List.
    1) _3RD_FLOOR_Admin_area(B2:B13)
    2)Bar(C2:C8)
    3)clasp_offices(D2:D7)
    4)Dining(E2:E8)
Then in A17:A21,we use a Validation List with these.
Then, INDIRECT(in B17:B21), does the job!!
