How to delete personal (.xls)

Hi

I have been working from help pages to try and learn and have added a personal(.xls) to my version of excel. Unfortunately I have saved some lines of code (as in the attachment screenshot) that appear to be interfering with the code that I have in some other workbooks. I cannot find a way of deleting this code or how to delete the personal(.xls) part of the VBA editor. Can anyone help?

The easiest way is to use the Windows menu in Excel -> Unhide. Select Personal.xls to unhide it. You can now access the code through the VB EDitor to edit or delete it.

When you have finished use the same method to hide Personal.xls

what happens if you just select the code in the Personal.xls worksheet module and hit the delete key?

You can also locate the personal.xls on your hard drive and delete it, if there's nothing worth keeping in it.

In any case, the two subs should not be the reason for any interference, because the Book1 sub is in the Workbook module and the personal.xls sub is in the Worksheet module ....

Have you checked the Workbook module for the personal.xls?

Thank you for your very quick response - I have tried that, but these lines will not delete. I have tried inserting a new worksheet and deleting worksheet 1, but the code that was on worksheet 1 is now on worksheet 2. I am stumped as I have deleted code that I wanted to keep before now!

It would be great if I could just get rid if it altogether and start again

I have tried deleting the code by highlighting and hitting the delete key, all that happens is that it goes from "workbook" to "general" and the code remains in the workbook section. the same for the worksheet does the exact same thing.

Those lines you posted in the Word.doc will automatically appear in any sheet module (slightly different ones for the ThisWorkbook module) where you use the upper left dropdown in the module itself to select either Worksheet (or Workbook in the case of the ThisWorkbook module). It shouldn't cause you any problems.

Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
