Question Can't Select Single Cell or Row

Our company recently got new machines with Windows 7 and MS Office 2007. About a week ago I started to use "Layout View" in Excel 2007. I think this is when I started experiencing this problem.

I can't seem to select just 1 (one) cell at a time, nor can I select 1 (one) row at a time. I thought this was an intermittent problem but noticed that it only happens in Layout View.

At first I thought my mouse was faulty so I just got my old one. The problem is still there. I tried selecting single cells in both new and other saved Excel files and don't have this problem. This really confused me. To make the confusion worse... I opened a new document and turned on Layout View... I can select one cell just fine.

This brings me to the conclusion that maybe I accidentally tripped or selected an option that is saved for that specific document... sort of like certain printer settings.

Have any of you experienced this problem. I've been using Excel everyday for the past 3 years now and have never had this problem. This is so strange... and very frustrating when I have to default to navigating the selection field using the arrow keys.

    Thanks

Seems to be more common issue than you might think...it seems to be a bug...

.. I googled and found a few.... people have tried different things to make it go away... take your pick....

    Thanks NBVC,

I found a reasonably easy solution in the second link.

I make sure that I'm at %100 zoom. This does not really fix the problem, as the it's obviously a bug that is still limiting me from using basic functions that I can use with no problem in other documents that aren't having this problem.

BTW... I tried to duplicate the problem by changing zoom settings in other documents and I couldn't.

    My conclusion is this:
If all I have to do to fix this problem is make sure I'm at %100... for now, I'm satisfied and will accept this thread as being solved... for now.

"The solution is to go to the view tab and set the view as "normal" It worked for me.
