    No Windows 8 section yet?

Does that have to wait for RTM?

From other sites, if anyone's interested, [Alt]+[F4] closes Metro apps, you can put a shortcut to the desktop into your Startup folder so that the Desktop displays on screen at the end of the login process, and it's possible to add the Start Menu folder as a taskbar menu (like Quick Launch in older versions). IOW, it's possible to use Windows 8 with little or no interaction with Metro.

Considering how long the requests for a forum reorganisation have been outstanding, I'd expect a Win8 forum shortly after the RTM of Win14.

Good to know about avoiding Metro though - thank you for that.
    Good luck.

We are going to restructure the forum shortly. Windows 8 will then have a sub-forum of its own.

Ubuntu and other Linux distros are still faster and more reliable ( and free) than any Windows OS, and Office 2010 works perfectly on Ubuntu without emulators , so I can live without Windows 8 or whatever MS OS
