Personal.xls doesn't open

I've search far and wide for this answer with no luck!

Anytime I click on an Excel file on my desktop, it opens without the personal macro workbook. I have to open Excel in a new instance for my personal workbook to open. This is time consuming as I can't just click it.

I'm using Excel 2010 on Windows 7.


Folder where it is stored:
C:\Users\BD\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\PERSONAL.xls

Did you try unhiding it?

I just tried it... there was no change.

Maybe ...

Excel Options > Advanced > General, untick Ignore other applications that use DDE
