Really need help getting values and axis correct in a chart

I have been working on a set of data for monthly hours spent per client per category, my boss would like this displayed in a stacked bar chart.
Unfortunately I cannot work out how to display the correct things on the axis. Rather than getting a clients name on the vertical axis, I get numbers, and I cannot seem to format the time on the horizontal axis to be in increments of five.
If someone could help explain this to me I would be very appreciative, as it is frustrating and making me feel useless in my job.
I have uploaded a file to make sense of it all.

I have tried selecting data ranges, changing how the chart is displayed, even changing chart type (though I do need the stacked bar).

Thank you in advance for any assistance/explanation you can provide to help.

    Select A1 to D17
click Insert > Bar chart > Stacked bar chart
    Format the X axis with
    - Maximum > Fixed > 3.333333
    - Major unit > Fixed > 0.208333333333333

    See attached.

In the lower chart I've formatted the Y axis with the settings
    - tick Categories in Reverse Order
    - Horizontal axis crosses > At maximum category

This will show the clients in the same order as in the source data table.

    A few hints:

When selecting the data for a chart, always include the labels in the selection, i.e. don't just select the numbers. If you don't include column A, then Excel will simply number the data points.

When using a time axis and trying to set intervals for the time axis, write the desired time into a cell, for example

    5:00
    80:00

Then format these cells with General format. That will give you the values you need to put into the dialog boxes. Excel stores date/time values as decimal numbers, and they don't translate easily to the untrained eye. Let Excel do the work for you. You enter a time value, Excel shows you the decimal when you format the cell to General.

NickyC - Yes that is basically what I was trying to achieve.
npamcpp - Thank you for the explanation. I eventually managed to get it as required, but I had no idea how I actually got there, so your explanation managed to assist me in understanding why I got the result I wanted from random clicking.
