    Unhappy Help!!! Alerts in Excel!!

i need help! is it possible to create any alert (pop-up messages, email, etc) in an excel file uploaded in a certain network?

the file contains a specific column of info, which has corresponding due dates and contact person/s. i have to create an alert when a certain date listed in that excel file arrives and send that alert to the person concerned. that contact person is also listed in the file. the alert could be in the form of a pop-up in his specific PC or an automated email alert.

or is there an alternative, such as creating a new program for this. any suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated. im getting pretty desperate. thanks a lot!!!!

Microsoft Outlook is designed to do these things by scheduling Tasks for
    people and using pop-up Reminders.

i understand, but those who will be using this spreadsheet want a way that there would be no need to create a schedule in outlook. its kinda dumb actually. could i create an html form and from there find a javascript that would scan the dates saved and automatically create an alert? thanks for the reply by the way!

    jepoy_02,
    Pop-up to a PC with:
    Shell ("net send " & PCName & " " & txtMsg)

    Amongst many email examples:
