How do i add a button that if i click on sorts the worksheet? save me doing it manually all the time

Why not use the standard toolbar sort button.

If this is not appropriate to your needs, perhaps you should provide
additional explanation.

i wish to add a button under each column so when published on web columns can also be sorted. i have managed to add them off-line by recording a macro and assigning it to a button. but when i save the excel file as a html file, and publish it on the web the buttons no longer work

Hi Damian,
Unless Microsoft changes their EULA there are so many restrictions
on what you can do with Excel published to a website as interactive code.

In any case macros will not work.

You can sort an HTML table with a bookmarklet -- the sort is strictly a
TEXT sort.
