I created a template that contains unlocked cells, but the entire worksheet is password protected. I can enter data into the unlocked cells, but Excel doesn't allow me to highlight it a different color. Is there any way around this?

Excel 2003
When the worksheet was protected, xl2003 (and xl2002) offers an option to the
developer to allow formatting changes.
The person who protected the worksheet chose not to allow this. If that person
was you, unprotect the sheet and reprotect it with the options you want.
Otherwise, go back to that person and ask him/her to reprotect the worksheet the
way you like--or at least get an explanation why you can't have it that way.

I used the password to unprotect the sheet and then reprotected with the option checked off. That did the trick. Thanks!
