Hello,
I use excel in the very simple way that most home users do so you can imagine the limits of my capability, so please accept my apologies in advance for misuse of terminology.

I am creating a spreadsheet for our athletics club and would like to apply a spinner to a cell in order to toggle through a short list of options to display.

I have managed to find the spinner button.
I cannot understand the help files when it comes to linking this spinner to data and a cell.
At the risk of beeing a pain, a simply-worded set of complete instructions would be greatly appreciated.
