vlookup problem

hi...

i've connected a sheet with some sheets using vlookup to return a value. the problem is that in some instances no output is displayed.....& if i go to the base sheet and just write something....then delete to remain as original and press enter.....the corresponding output is displayed in the main worksheet.

For ex. main sheet......

Column A
10098776

Base Sheet

Col A Col B
10098776 43.98
So just typing 10098776ldksjflsd & deleting this and pressing enter ...displays the right no. 43.98 in the main sheet.

format n all seems the same...then y this problem in some places?

please type out the formula you are using to bring the value to your main sheet

Sounds as if you are in manual calculation mode. Use Tools | Options |
Calculations (tab) to check.
