    how do I limit the number of coloums?

    I want only 4 coloums on a spreadsheet. How do I limit it to that number

    You don't. But, you can hide the others or set the scroll area so that the
    cursor doesn't got there.

    select columns E to IV and then hide them.

    To prevent users messing the 4 column structure up, protect your sheet and check the relevant boxes.

    Select columns E thru IV
    (You can do that by pressing F5 and entering E:IV)
    Menu Format>Column>Hide
