Exclamation If 2 Experts saw a thread, both start working on that. Any method to say "i am working" ?

Others might have already asked similar question.
i did little search, but did not find similar thread.

Hope my question can be understood.
Recently i was working on an thread (file), after i gave my 'Relpy' i saw that some Expert had given reply just 3 minute before i posted my reply.

if there is a problem which takes long time to understand the file itself & then making the solution..
2 or more ppl will be investing their time on same thread.

Can we have some method by which we can inform others if someone is already working on the same thread ?

Note: i know that there is an option "There are currently 5 users browsing this thread. (2 members and 3 guests)".

BUT this does not say if someone is already started investing his time.
Atleast Experts should be given this option to mark "i am working"

Just because an expert is looking at a thread, and even working on a solution, it doesn't guarantee that they will post it, or that it works, or that it is the only solution, or that it is the best solution.

Being realistic, I'm not going to commit to providing a solution until I have one that I am happy with.

I have often posted a solution only to find that others have beat me to it. It gives the OP different insights and approaches ... and I can also learn from the solutions others provide.

That helps me to improve my knowledge and skills.

On the other hand, some people won't respond to a thread if an expert is looking at it. I think that's a shame because none of us are that good that we can't learn from the ideas of others.

Exactly what Trevor said - almost word for word how I would have replied

I actually really like it when I post a solution, then see others have also posted. I love comparing other people's take on both understanding the requirement, and then the methods used to provide a solution. I probably learn more from that, than anything else - because if I have replied, I am involved in the issue, so I am engaged with the solution(s).

Were I nearly as eloquent as Trevor, I would have said nearly the same thing -wouldn't I?

If you are satisfied with the solution(s) provided, please mark your thread as Solved.

    New quick method:
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.

Or you can use this way:

How to mark a thread Solved
    Go to the first post
    Click edit
    Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
    Change to Solved
    Click Save

You may also want to consider thanking those people who helped you by clicking on the little star at the bottom left of their reply to your question.

I try to compose in notepad, and refresh before pasting and submitting. You sacrifice icon tools that way, so alternatively I compose in the regular interface, and run two browser windows, refreshing and examining the other before submitting.
