Welcoming FDibbins as our new Admin

    Hello Everyone

Hope you all are doing great!

Would like to announce that Ford is now an Admin at Excel Forum. Please do join me in congratulating him. I am sure, between JB and Ford, the Forum will now run more smoothly.

Thanks for accepting the new role, Ford. We will endeavour to make it as comfortable as possible.

    Good morning Ford,

My belated congratulations - I've only just seen this one.

So whilst I'm here can I suggest we add to the rules and also the canned replies, the recommendation that you've been picking up on recently whereby we would like solutions wherever possible to be included in the body of posts.

Not sure we could really make that a rule (there was a discussion thread, tried to it, no luck) but there is already a canned reply for that

Ah, OK I hadn't spotted the canned reply.

But on then general point about rules, what's your view on modifying the layout of the rules. Most people don't seem to read them anyway and even if they mosey on over to have a look at them the first visual impression is sort of in your face and could be somewhat daunting putting off any further reading.

How about a 'Contents' list at the top which contains only the title of the rule, with the expanded meaning of each rule shown in its full glory underneath the list?

I'm behind on the forum lately (personal issues) but you (Ford) mentioned in post #6 it being a bit strange seeing that title under your name. I would say that seeing forum expert under my name is still strange for me especially since I think I got it only due to perseverance and not skill
YOU on the other hand do deserve it. I also saw Glenn recently move to Guru status and congratulated him personally but not on the site.
so a BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH! GOOD WORK!
I hope you each got raises and big corner offices too (ha ha)!

Ha Ha, sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean I met Glenn personally to congratulate him (though that would have been great) no I meant I sent him a personal congratulations via the private e-mail on the forum. It is funny how you can write things having one meaning in mind but it can be interpreted many ways.
