    Re: CCleaner

    Yep,
It was recommended to me here, along with some others
    http://www.eileenslounge.com/viewtop...155679#p155679
It seems OK. Although I have only once noticed that it "did" something noticeable .
On that one occasion one of my Computers suddenly would hardly do anything or run anything as it was too full! _ - Luckily CCleaner was on it and it did still run that. It cleared a lot of memory and saved the day in that case.
I guess if one knows more about computers one can probably do manually all that it does, clearing cache etc..etc...

I have never had any problems withCCleaner. I have it on a few computers now. It does not appear to bombard with offers to update as much as other similar software i tried did. After a quick look and try of the “free” cleaners, I deleted most but kept the CCleaner.

I've used it before, and as with all of these things, you need to use it with extreme care.

I did have some problems with others, and / or they kept bombarding me with ads, or offers to update.
I have not ( yet ) had a problem with CCleaner - Have you?

    Re: CCleaner

I use it regularly, have done for a few years now & have had no problems with it at all.
    In Options/Include I added
    C:\Users\Phil\AppData\Local\Temp
    C:\Windows\Temp
    C:\Windows\Prefetch
The reason for the Prefetch folder is to get rid of anything leftover from uninstalling programs. I don't care if windows takes a bit longer to load because the jug is on & a cuppa is in the making

Another utility I use regularly is Glarys Utilities & have no problems with that either.
I use cCleaner first & then Glarys to get the stuff cCleaner missed and also to defrag the registry and hard drive. I usually do it once a week or fortnight or whenever I remember.
You have to be a bit careful with Glarys because you can select a lot more things to clear out & if you select the wrong thing, you can have trouble.

Have a look at this site for freebies, it's where I got the Pro version of Glarys + lots of other software

As with all sites, there's plenty of rubbish to sift through

    Cheers
    Phil
