    Source Of Login ID

Seeing as I have been asked this a couple of times by PM's I thought I would enlighten all of you as to the source of my login ID

Approx 35 years ago when I started working for a new employee.
The job involved digging trenches, laying 100mm (4") pipes, building manholes.

Being the newbie I had the job of cleaning up & reinstating the soil.

With Melbourne's fantastic weather it always seemed to rain when I was reinstating the work area turning everything to mud & slush.

This I ended up with the nickname of Mudraker.

When I signed up to Hotmail this was the 1st name I could use that was not already used so now I use it for most of my Internet Id's.

I can not always use it as sometimes someone else has used as an ID on the site.

Mine is simply a combination of my initials and my wife's initials....

I'll leave you guys to figure out which are which....some may at least know which is my first initial...

Mine's not a very imaginitive ID is it? Like mudraker I use this name for all of the forums I'm a member of - but apparently there is a German dude into photography who uses the same moniker, but we mustn't have the same interests 'cos all forums I'm a member of are as DominicB.

    Very observant, Dominic

Well, as they say, she's the boss....so she gets to be up front

...but I like to tell people that it is easier to say NBVC than VCNB and it looks better too

Although, i do notice, people seem to have difficulty typing those 4 letters... there are many many times when people refer to me as NVBC instead...

... if you notice, it is coincidence, but the NBVC are 4 side-by-side letters on the keyboard... should be easy, no?

Indeed, a quick search of the forums brings up 35 hits (excluding this thread), the most recent offender being one Simon Lloyd (who he? ).

My name comes from two sources. "Dark" comes from the movie Spaceballs, in reference to Dark Helmet, who has to be the most inept movie bad guy of all time. The second half comes from a cartoon. Don't know how global this show was, but in the early-mid 90's, I watched Pinky & the Brain. It was about two lab mice, one incredibly stupid and the other brilliant, who kept trying to take over the world. In one of them, Brain develops a machine that allows a user to enter an alternate reality and leaves Pinky in the lab because Pinky will only mess things up. This machine also allows Pinky to follow Brain's progress. Brain starts travelling with a yam for no apparent reason and his plot is going well until he ticks off some villagers, who storm upon Brain and the yam with torches and pitchforks. Pinky rushes in to save Brain and, on getting back, Brain wants to see what would have happened. Lo and behold, the yam is the king of the world.
I've only come across one instance of this name being used by someone else so far.

When people ask me what my login ID means, I tell them they're pretty backward if they can't figure it out

In the very late 80's and early 90's in Australia there was a rock band named Ratcat. At that stage of life I was in the last years of school and being a musician, my haircut was hanging just over my eyes and a bit of a mullet at the back.

One day, one of my friends reckon that I looked like the lead singer (Simon Day) and branded me the nickname Ratcat.

I've all so found out that there is other people go by this login ID.

Dom(inic) is my name and my favourite sport used to be skiing although I've been snowboarding more in recent years and don't get over to be on the white stuff as often as I used to.

I know there's a dj called Domski as well but I'd been using this for a while when I found out and couldn't be bothered to come up with another one.
