I tend to get only 20 FPS on most games near medium settings. I am looking for a simple upgrade or something I have over looked. Please advise if you see anything odd or would like to suggest an upgrade.
Thanks All!

Someone must have an extensive knowledge of computing who is also a Gamer. I have researched into more Ram but most say that 4g's should be find for what I am doing. However my Moniter I know is 23' Wide Screen and might be the cause of my issue with low FPS while gaming on some of these graphicly intense games. Odd enough I can run Oblivion on high settings with 25-30 fps. But then I come to a newer MMORPG and boom my FPS is crap.
I need some advise.![]()
Thanks!
I've only just started playing pc games and this is the spec of my laptop:
Processor - 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM
Memory - 6144MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM
Video Card - 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M Graphics Card
Crisis 1 and 2 both run on it fine at a decent frame rate if that's an indication.

Have you thought about asking in a gaming forum?
I was just reading an article today that says 4GB RAM is the maximum for a 32 bit OS. Anything more than that can not be accessed so you would be wasting your money adding more RAM.
Article is here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/office201...it-office.aspx

Thank you all for the replies. The PC's specs shown cost me 500 dollars which was a great deal. I have researched more on the subject of RAM and noticed I need to try and free up more of my RAM. I can change how much is shared and also move tot he recommended dedicated amount.
Thanks all for sharing.
Hey Cutter, I looked last night at my Home PC and it indicates the 64bit Vista OS. However I need to check into my motherboard being able to support more RAM. I know I am out of slots so I know I will need to replace the current 1gb sticks with 2gb or 4gb sticks. 16 gigs or RAM seems like over kill to me but if I can support it then I guess I will have no need to upgrade for a long time.
Hey Domski, That laptop has nice specs. Mind me asking how much you put out for it? I know Microsoft is having a sale on Laptops for back to school here in the US. Windows laptops come with a free X-Box apparently. Just so happens that both my Laptop and X-Box are starting to show their age.
It's a Dell XPS 15 and I think I paid £779 for it.
