Anyone have any ideas how to make the checkbox text bold?
Do you mean ActiveX checkbox ? In Design Mode right click and view Properties - specifically Font.

No it is the checkbox from the form menu
In Word I could simple make the font bold for a checkbox from the Developer >
Controls > Legacy controls > Legacy forms.
In Excel the form controls are not strictly formattable. But as every a work around.
