Hi,
I would like to find and replace the styles in the word document.
For instance I have 4 paragraphs in a word document with all the paragraphs denoting to "Normal" style. The first paragraph is set to bold.
When I try to find and replace the paragraph style from "Normal" to "Ram" ("Ram" is an user defined style) all my paragraphs are set to the style "Ram". But my first paragraph still in bold and the style is showing as "Ram".
But when I place my cursor in the same paragraph and reapply the style "Ram" then it is getting converted to the exact format of the style "Ram". But why it is not working for the first time.
Your answer would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ram
Hi Ram,
When your first paragraph is set as bold, it is listed differently under Styles and Formatting from the original "normal" style to which you apply to. What i mean to say is, it would be Normal(bold). Therefore it didnt change the first time round since ure merely commanding the "normal" fonts to change. Hope this helps.
Hello Ram
I guess that your first paragraph was manually set to bold. That manual setting is effectively sitting on top of the Normal style, as Ramification87 suggests. So in your list of styles you have Normal and Normal + Bold.
You could try this:
- In Styles, select Normal + Bold
- In Styles, choose Select All Instances from the drop-down
- For Normal + Bold, select Delete from the drop-down
- Click OK.
The selected instances of Normal + Bold should revert to the Normal style.
