Dear all,
I got a file of 90 pages and was trying to do a page numbering at the bottom in a way that
from page 1 to page to 20 should number as roman letters
and from page 21 till the end should be normal English letters
the problem is whenever I edit or delete the top page footer the whole thing changes
down across the file, is there a way to insert a module or whatever to control the numbering of pages

Hi there,you can do so by inserting a page break.
Place cursor on the page where u want the no to be of different format (page 21 i presume),
Page Layout>Page Setup>Breaks>Section Breaks>Next Page> Insert> Check header and footer> Edit Footer
Under the header and footer tools> Design>Navigation>Click on "Link to Previous"
When this is done, in the Header and Footer group, click Page Numbers> Format Page Numbers
In the number format list, choose the option you want. If you want the numbering to start from 21, enter 21 in the start box and press ok.
