    Editing an existing Add-In Ribbon

I am working on a project in Word 2010 but am very much a beginner. The details of the project don't matter too much but I have re-written and re-designed the macros within the document. The previous designer made an Add-In Ribbon where you could choose to run the Macros by clicking one of the buttons therein. I cannot work out how this is done and cannot change these items so they have different titles and different targets

I only seem to be able to delete these buttons or the whole Ribbon but nothing more useful.

    Is anyone able to help?

    Thanks
    Alex

Re: Editing an existing Add-In Ribbon

Ok so I spent some time working on this issue today and found the below which I believe to be the route of the ToolBar design

Is this correct? What programme can I use to edit this file to add the right paths, etc to the Add-Ins Menu?

    Thanks again

    Hi Todd,

Did you look at customizing the ribbon at: http://www.excel-easy.com/basics/ribbon.html

I think all ribbon function are set using the above info. You can create custom functions and add them also to the ribbon using the above site methods.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

Re: Editing an existing Add-In Ribbon

Thanks Marvin. I think this link is a little simpler than what I was hoping to do.

I want about 20 macro shortcuts to sit on the Ribbon for all users only when they open this document. The issue is that I am picking through another persons previous work and they had clearly used the method I am investigating. It seems clear to me (but I am a novice!) that I need to amend the attachedToolbars.bat file to amend the buttons on the Add-In Ribbon that has been designed but I don't know how. Is this correct and are there any free program where I can easily amend this file?

Re: Editing an existing Add-In Ribbon

So here is a very good set of Ribbon Information:
Ron de Bruin's "Ribbon Examples files and Tips"

Good luck. There's lots to learn. But he has lots of examples of different ways to handle ribbons stuff as well. He's been my God send.
