Extracting certain data from Word into Excel spreadsheet

Dear all,

I have a bunch of word documents coming in soon that haven't been formatted properly and wanted to find a way of automating the extraction of several bits of data (e.g. name, email, address) from them and into an Excel spreadsheet.

I have tried this:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
However, that only gives me a small table from the document.

I would appreciate help on how to customise this to select the data that I need from the document.

Is it possible to identify what needs to be extract by specifying a preceding and proceeding line that this is located between?

What were you expecting?

Without knowing how your data are to be identified, it's impossible to say.

If there is some consistency in that, yes. To see what's possible, have a look at: http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/show...l=1#post271989

PS: When posting code, please use the code tags. They're on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Please use code tags around code.
Posting code between
Please Login or Register to view this content.
tags makes your code much easier to read and copy for testing, it also maintains VBA formatting.

Highlight your code and click the # icon at the top of your post window. More information about these and other tags can be found here
I will add then for you - this time

Also please read the rules regarding x-posting

Edit: It looks like the code tags were there, but did not work for some reason - they work now, so ignore my 1st comment regardingthem please
edit 2: Looks like arlu beat me to it...she is quick!!

Providing a link to something demonstrating what's possible does not mean you're invited to start posting in that thread and on top of that, yet again, ignore the cross-posting etiquette.
