    Registration form - Ideas

Hi.. I am looking for suggestion / guidance on the best approach.

I have a user form that users can register for classes. They select they name and class they want. They can also go in and delete entry later if they decide not to take class. This works great. I want to make some enhancements. In table that holds the classes I added fields that holds the amount of slots available for each class and another field that holds number of slots taken. Then I based a query of that table and added expression to calculate the difference. Basically number of slots remaining.

The goal is so users can see whether or not class slots are available. Once the max is reached I don't want users to be able to add or signup. But would like them to see if any slots available or not per class.

Does anyone have any suggestion on this approach? Perhaps a sample code with something similar.

    Thanks in advance.

My suggestion would be to attach what you have so far. We have no idea of your data layout, what userform controls are called or anything about the file you already have. That would mean building something from scratch based on guesswork and potentially the extra time needed to advise you how to adjust anything provided to fit your file.

Your request for help is unlikely to attract much attention without the example file.

    Beth.

Makes a lot of sense. Attached is my documents in there basic form. Basically user enters student ID and selects class and submit. I would like them to see the available slots when they select a class. If slots available they can submit. Need to some how reduce the classes available as students register for classes. If classes is full, would just like to make that selection visible but just state that it is full.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks to all in advance.

Your data is in Access database, so shouldn't this thread be in Access Programming / VBA / Macros section?
You can ask the moderator to move it there.

Any suggestion for at least incrementing the count in the slot taken field each time someone registers for a class?
