    Macro to Upload into Access

    Hello,

Is there a Macro that will help me take a folder of Excel Spreadsheets and create an Access Database?

    Thank You

Re: Macro to Upload into Access

    Many questions!!
    1. Are all worksheets laid out in the exact same format?
    2. Which sheet in each workbook to be uploaded? Multiple sheets or only one?
    3. All input to the same table in Access?
    4. Path of Directory containing Workbooks?
    5. Path and name of Data Base?
    6. One time upload or will this require additional uploads?
    7. Provide one sample workbook to this site to ensure that the data is presented in a normalized manner. See Yellow Banner "How to attach your sample workbook."
    8. Read the attached white paper on RDBMS and data normalization.

    1) Yes all worksheets are in the same exact format.
    2) 1st sheet.
    3) Yes, same table
    4) Same path (all the files will be in the same folder).

Re: Macro to Upload into Access

You have not provided a sample workbook of data to be imported.
You have not provided the path of where the data files to be imported are located.
You have not provided the path to your DB file.

This is all important info to design a specific VBA code that is specific to your needs. There is no such thing as generic code for your situation.

I have added a sample workbook. The Access file is in the same directory as the excel spreadsheet.

    Say it's in C:\users\abc\documents\access

Isn't the database file the access file?
