I'm attempting to ensure users enable macros when using my database. Because of this I thought the best way, would be to display a message box on load but to do that with code you need macros So any other thoughts/ideas?
EDIT: This is in 2007/2010

If this was at all possible it would be extremely dangerous. What would there be to stop malcious code?
You could lock some of the workbooks properties, make sheets very hidden, etc and perhaps use a front sheet to say that the book needs macros to function properly.
However I for one would be very suspicious of any workbook that came with such a message, unless I knew the source or originator.
Cheers
P.S. You might find that this type of question is in breach of forum rules regarding security, I'm not sure though.

You can only display a message box with a macro, this won't run unless macros are enabled.
ForceUsersEnableMacros.zip
Hope that helps.

It's not illegal in that it just notifies the user that they need to enable the macro. I'm on a school computer at the moment so can't download that file but will try when I get home. It's for an assignment and my teacher may not be smart enough to realise she needs to enable macros
